• New marketplace: starting with 2027 coverage, Oregon residents enroll through Explore Health (ExploreHealthOR.gov), Oregon's own marketplace, instead of HealthCare.gov.
• Fewer insurance companies: PacificSource and Providence are leaving Oregon's individual market, and Moda is leaving Deschutes County. In 2027, individual plans in Deschutes County come from BridgeSpan and Regence.
• Higher rates: Oregon approved an average individual-market rate increase of 21.6% for 2027.
• If your insurer is leaving: you'll be matched with a similar plan from another company for automatic re-enrollment. That plan may not include your doctors or fit your budget, so compare your options during open enrollment.

2027 open enrollment dates:
• November 1, 2026: Open enrollment starts on Explore Health
• December 31, 2026: Enroll by this date for coverage starting January 1, 2027
• January 1–15, 2027: Enroll in this window for coverage starting February 1, 2027
• January 15, 2027: Open enrollment ends
Tip: don't wait until the last week. Finishing by mid-December leaves time to fix document requests or payment problems.
After January 15, you'll need a qualifying life event (moving, losing other coverage, marriage, a new baby and others) to enroll. You usually have 60 days from the event. Oregon Health Plan (OHP) enrollment is open all year.

• Financial help is only available for plans bought through the marketplace (Explore Health), and it depends on your household income and size.
• The extra pandemic-era subsidies have ended. For 2027, premium tax credits are generally available to households earning between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level. That's up to about $63,840 for a single person or $132,000 for a family of four.
• Above that income, there's no premium tax credit, so comparing plans carefully matters even more.
• Some lower-income households may qualify for the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) instead.
We'll help you estimate your income for 2027 and see what you qualify for.
On- and off-marketplace plans: We can help with plans bought through Explore Health (with or without financial help) and plans bought directly from an insurance company. Choosing the right route can matter as much as choosing the right plan.

• Local: our office is in Redmond, and we've helped Central Oregon residents for more than 30 years.
• Certified marketplace agency: we can help you apply on Explore Health and handle the follow-up.
• No cost to you: insurance companies pay us, and your premium is the same as enrolling on your own.
• Help all year: for life changes, ID cards, billing questions and next year's renewal.

My PacificSource, Providence or Moda individual plan is ending. What should I do?
